CONSULTATION OPEN FOR NATIONAL HYDROGEN REGULATORY GUIDEBOOKS: PIPELINES

The National Hydrogen Regulatory Guidebook: Pipelines was released for public consultation Monday 2 March. Consistent with the recent internal government consultation process, the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water are seeking feedback on the accuracy and correctness, comprehensiveness, and usability of the Guidebook.

The National Hydrogen Regulatory Guidebook: Pipelines is the third guidebook in the hydrogen series and covers the regulatory guidance for operation of hydrogen pipelines in Australia. Previous guidebooks covered production facilities and refuelling facilities.

The Pipelines guidebook aims to:

  • provide industry participants with a basic level of knowledge regarding the properties of hydrogen, and an overview of pipelines, hazards and associated mitigations
  • identify existing regulatory obligations at the Commonwealth, state and territory level for hydrogen pipelines
  • provide guidance on satisfying regulatory obligations, in respect of hydrogen pipelines

    • Make tracked-changes or comments in the Pipelines Guidebook, and / or associated annexures, and / or
