WORKSAFE ROLLS OUT UPDATED HIGH RISK WORK LICENCE CARDS

WorkSafe is introducing an updated High Risk Work Licence card with new security to strengthen controls and reduce the risk of unauthorised activity.

WorkSafe will automatically issue the new card to all licence holders, commencing October 2026, as part of a staged rollout.

Licence holders will receive a new physical card, however there are no changes to licence classes, conditions, entitlements and digital licences.

Until further notice, both existing and new card formats will remain valid and can be used in workplaces.

Licence holders do not need to do anything right now. This information is being shared to keep you informed.

At this stage, there is no defined date for cut off from using the existing card. This will be communicated once all new cards have been issued.
