COVID NUMBERS DROPPING

Victorian data taken from Department of Health Weekly Report 16 February 2024.

The number of people in hospital with COVID-19 has continued to decline this week.

The 7-day average is 156, compared to 180 last week. The 7-day average of ICU patients has also decreased this week (9 to 4).

Deaths in the most recent 28-day period (03/01/2024 – 30/01/2024) declined compared to the prior 28-day period (06/12/2023 – 02/01/2024), with a current 28-day total of 136.

Australia: As of 19 February, there have been 11,810,241 cases and 24,194 COVID deaths.

World: As of 05 February, there had been 703,471,314 worldwide infections with COVID-related deaths numbering 6,984,533.
