WEEKLY COVID NUMBERS

The number of people in hospital with COVID-19 continued to increase this week to a daily average of 193, up from 168 last week.

The 7-day average of ICU patients increased this week (5 to 8).

There have been 53 deaths in the most recent reporting period (30 August 2023 to 26 September 2023).

Australia: As of 9 October, there have been 11,776,670 cases and 22,819 COVID deaths.

World: As of 9 October, there had been 696,349,556 worldwide infections with COVID-related deaths numbering 6,924,289.
