WEEKLY COVID NUMBERS

Victorian data taken from Department of Health Weekly Report 29 September 2023

The number of people in hospital with COVID-19 continued to increase this week to a daily average of 168, up from 143 last week.

The 7-day average of ICU patients decreased this week (8 to 5).

Deaths have remained low since decreasing from the peak of the most recent wave in June with 58 deaths in the most recent reporting period (16 August 2023 to 13 September 2023).

Australia: As of 04 October, there have been 11,774,220 cases and 22,798 COVID deaths

World: As of 04 October, there had been 696,101,691 worldwide infections with COVID-related deaths numbering 6,922,748 (Source: Worldometer)
