COVID NUMBERS THIS WEEK

Victorian data taken from Department of Health Weekly Report 2 February 2024.

The daily average of people in hospital with COVID-19 declined this week from 274 down to 266.

The 7-day average of ICU patients also declined from 8 to 7.

Deaths in the most recent 28-day period (20/12/2023 – 16/01/2024) declined compared to the prior 28-day period (22/11/2023 – 19/12/2023), with a current 28-day total of 149.

Australia: As of 05 February, there have been 11,795,370 cases and 24,128 COVID deaths.

World: As of 05 February, there had been 702,726,053 worldwide infections with COVID-related deaths numbering 6,978,813.
