The Pocket Guide for Construction Safety is a quick and easy to use resource designed to help manage risks on small construction sites. The publication is aimed at small construction businesses and contractors with fewer than 20 employees, self-employed tradies, subcontractors and others working on site. It is designed to be easy to view on your phone, tablet or desktop for instant practical safety tip access.

The guide provides information to help employers and self-employed businesses to manage:

  • common health and safety issues on construction sites
  • employer health and safety obligations under Victorian occupational health and safety (OHS) laws

the publication is not a complete guide to the law and should be read in conjunction with:

  • the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 (OHS Act)
  • the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations 2017 (OHS Regulations)
  • construction compliance codes
  • relevant industry standards
