WORKSAFE EVENTS - CALLING ALL HSRs IN DANDENONG

Did you know that in the last 5 years just one postcode in Victoria has contributed 10% of all fatalities and injuries in the manufacturing industry? WorkSafe’s Project 3175 was launched earlier this year centring activities in Dandenong to address this overrepresentation.

As part of this project WorkSafe Victoria is running a free Health and Safety Month event focused specifically on strengthening HSRs’ skills and confidence in resolving workplace safety issues. The session will cover HSR powers, consultation requirements, legal obligations and issue resolution, with a particular focus on common manufacturing hazards including plant guarding and mobile plant.

The session runs on Wednesday 21 October from 9.00am to 11.30am following a breakfast from 8.30am. Please note that this event is not approved under s.69. HSRs do not have a legislative entitlement to attend and instead should seek paid release with their employer where possible, or attend in their own time.
