WORKER KILLED AT RECYCLING CENTRE

It is with great sadness that we report that a 26-year-old man was killed at about 9.45 am on Friday last week after he was struck by an articulated front-end loader.

The front-end loader was moving recycled goods at the Broadmeadows recycling centre. WorkSafe is investigating the incident.

WorkSafe has said in its media release that the death is the 24th confirmed workplace fatality for 2024.

The VTHC sends our sincerest condolences to the worker’s family, friends and work colleagues. No worker should die at work - all workplace deaths are preventable.
