WEEKLY COVID NUMBERS

Victorian data taken from Department of Health Weekly Report 20 October 2023.

The number of people in hospital with COVID-19 declined again this week to a daily average of 179, down from 183 last week.

The 7-day average of ICU patients increased this week (6 to 8).

Deaths in the most recent 28-day period have continued to increase, with a current 28-day total of 86.

Australia: As of 24 October, there have been 11,787,077 cases and 22,869 COVID deaths.

World: As of 24 October, there had been 696,904,232 worldwide infections with COVID-related deaths numbering 6,930,729.
