YOU DIRTY RAT

As we've moved from PCR to Rapid Antigen Tests (RATs) you may be wondering about the effectiveness of RATs in detecting different strains of COVID-19.

The TGA has released the results of a review on the effectiveness of various brands in detecting different COVID-19 strains, including Delta and Omicron. They have published these findings in this report.

It’s important to make sure that you are testing correctly with a RAT. Information on how to test correctly, and some common mistakes, can be found here

If your test has been sitting in a cupboard for months, check the expiry date before you use it. Also consider whether it has been stored at the correct temperature during that time (the instruction leaflet will tell you what that is).
