COVID NUMBERS

As of Tuesday 6 December 2022, Victoria recorded:  

4,843 new daily infections   
20 COVID deaths  
720 hospitalisations, with 35 currently in ICU

Cumulatively this equals:     

2,756,204 total Victorian infections  
6,087 Victorian COVID deaths (an increase of 65 since last week)

Australia: As of 6 December there have been a total of 10,759,272 COVID cases (an increase of 87,131 since last week) and 16,264 deaths (an increase of 145 since last week).  

World: As of 6 December there have been 650,329,275 worldwide infections (646,510,245 last week). The number of official COVID-related deaths is now 6,647,714 (Source: Worldometer).    

VACCINATION UPDATE   

94.4% of all eligible Victorians (16+), as of 6 December, have received their second dose, 95.6% their first dose, the third dose the figure is 70.2% with the fourth dose figure at 24.2%.

The figure for all eligible Australians (16+), as of 6 December is: first dose 97.3%, second dose 96.0%, the third dose 69.5% and the fourth dose 25.5% (16+).
