An estimated 4,000 Australians die annually from asbestos-related diseases, which is nearly four times the annual road toll.
To prevent exposure and eliminate asbestos-related diseases, for this year’s National Asbestos Awareness Week (21-27 November) the Asbestos Safety and Eradication Agency are asking home occupiers and tradespeople to do things the right way by ensuring proper and lawful disposal of asbestos.
NAAW’s focus this year is on prevention of illegal dumping and improper disposal of asbestos waste in kerbside bins.
