The MUA, VTHC and FoE invite you to an afternoon of music, solidarity and action, to raise funds for the campaign to clean-up Bass Strait.
With Esso and Woodside trying their best to dump their old oil and gas infrastructure in Bass Strait, instead of taking responsibility and cleaning up their mess, working people are standing up and refusing to let government look the other way.
The good news is that building an environmentally friendly decommissioning industry will protect our oceans whilst creating a new, long term industry in recycling and green steel for Victoria.
That means:
- Pulling all of their old oil and gas infrastructure out of Bass Strait.
- Processing, decontaminating and recycling it all onshore in Victoria.
- Creating good union jobs for Victorians and opportunities for offshore workers to transition into a new industry.
- Making sure Esso and Woodside pay the full cost of cleaning up the assets they profited from.
Australia's biggest offshore clean-up is coming. Stand with the workers who are ready to do it, and let's make sure it creates Victorian jobs!
Join us for an afternoon of music, solidarity and action as we raise funds for the campaign to ensure that the retired rigs are completely removed and recycled in Victoria.
Two amazing artists will be performing: local legend Skyscraper Stan and the Commission Flats, and fresh off the back of touring their new album, Steel City Sue and the Smoke Stacks.
Get tickets: Join us to kickstart this campaign for jobs, manufacturing, accountability and the future of our coast!
