For those HSRs who are new to We Are Union OHS Reps we invite you to take a tour through the tools that are available on our OHS Reps website to assist you in enacting your powers and rights under the OHS Act. A wide range of useful tools, checklists, surveys, forms and templates can be found in our section on Tools for HSRs.
We encourage HSRs to use these tools and to modify them to suit your own workplace – having a documented record of your HSR activities is essential, and these documents will help you to do that.
The HSR Toolbox has been developed for HSRs to use in their own workplace. It includes documents to help you record –
- the election of HSRs and deputy HSRs – evidence that you are entitles to represent your DWG
- the details of the establishment or variation of DWGs – including the scope of the DWG and how many HSRs or deputy HSRs the DWG needs
- surveys for psychosocial hazards and stress – HSRs can use these to gather anonymous data about the hazards present in their workplace and the impact it is having on DWG members
- along with the surveys are bullying identification guides and logs, and a guide to what HSRs can do about gendered violence
- guides on what to expect from an inspector, how HSRs can help in the RTW process, how to investigate a heat related incident, and how to perform an OHS structures health check
Our comprehensive selection of Checklists has templates that can be amended and saved by HSRs to assist with inspections to identify hazards and risks. Our checklists cover the following topics –
