Health at Work - What is it?
There are many workplaces now considering introducing Health and Work programs or Health Promotion programs which seek to address a worker's own personal health. Many workplaces have already introduced such programs. Part of the explanation is that even occupational health and safety regulators have been promoting these programs.
Should reps support these programs? What should be in place first? The first thing employers must do - their duty under the Occupational Health and Safety Act - is to identify and control workplace hazards that create risks to the health of their employees.
Download the kit below which has been designed to assist OHS Reps and delegates in workplaces where employers are seeking to introduce these programs. It's in draft form only, and we welcome any comments. Please send them to Renata at [email protected]
