BREAD & ROSES REVIVED: 'PERFECTION 12' SONG

SafetyNet subscribers will recall last week’s appalling story of sexual harassment experienced by the twelve UWU members who’ve filed a major sexual harassment case against Perfection Fresh.

To amplify their struggle for justice, the ‘Perfection 12’ have launched an album of songs, including a reimagined version of the historic Bread and Roses, a song that symbolises the fight for equality and justice, with origins dating back to the Lawrence textile strike in Massachusetts in 1912.

These workers are advocating not only for themselves but for all workers in similar situations, emphasising job security, improved union rights, and safety. Their album release underscores their commitment to the cause and adds their voices to a historical movement.

These women were harassed while working on farms that supply Coles, Woolworth & Aldi supermarkets with fresh produce.

Orders from the big supermarkets keep companies like Perfection Fresh in business. Coles, Woolworths & Aldi have huge power over their supply chain – and should use it to hold their suppliers to account & demand those companies make changes to better protect workers.

Raise your concerns with the big supermarkets by clicking  the Take Action tab on the UWUs campaign webpage.
