5 Day course for Elected Health & Safety Reps & Deputy Reps under the Victorian OHS Act 2004, sometimes splitting the 5 days into two multi-day sessions. This course provides new or returning HSRs with an understanding of the objectives of the OHS Act 2004 and their role under the Act.
Section 67 of the OH&S Act 2004 entitles all OHS and Deputy Reps who have completed a 5 day Initial training course to attend a one day Refresher training course each year to keep their knowledge of OHS law and practice up-to-date.

Work related gendered violence including sexual harassment is a serious occupational health and safety issue that can be addressed under the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004. This WorkSafe approved HSR Refresher OHS training course will help HSRs to understand and exercise their powers effectively. The training will provide HSRs with the confidence, skills and knowledge to represent their co-workers when raising health and safety concerns in relation to work-related gendered violence.
This WorkSafe approved HSR Refresher OHS training course aims to provide HSRs with the skills and knowledge needed to raise and resolve, on behalf of their designated work group members, health and safety issues arising from incidents of work-related gendered violence.
We offer tailored HSR initial & refresher courses for workers in the education sector, from early childhood education through to tertiary. HSRs working in early childhood education, primary, secondary, TAFE and universities are also eligible to take a general OHS course.
Are you a manager or supervisor? Do you sit on an OHS Committee? We have a two-day course that familiarizes you with the OHS Act and your duties under it. The 2-Day course is an overview designed for managers, supervisors and committee members – it is not a replacement for the 5-Day initial training.

HSRs and deputies have the right under section 72 Commonwealth Work Health Safety Act, 2011 to undertake a course of training of their choice approved by Comcare Australia. The VTHC is authorized to deliver both the initial and the refresher course under the auspices of the Australian Council of Trade Unions. The Comcare courses are for elected HSRs and deputies.
