NOMINATIONS OPEN FOR THE COMCARE NATIONAL WORK HEALTH AND SAFETY AWARDS

The biennial awards – now in their 20th year – recognise outstanding achievement in making workplaces safer and healthier across the Commonwealth jurisdiction.

Comcare’s acting CEO Michael Duke said it was important to celebrate programs, systems and evidence-based approaches used to prevent and manage harm in workplaces.

‘These awards raise awareness of the importance of work health and safety and rehabilitation by highlighting outstanding efforts by employers and individuals to drive best practice, innovation and positive impact,’ Mr Duke said.

There are 6 awards across 5 categories – including a new category for Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs):

  • Category 1 – Prevention
  • Category 2 – Recovery at and Return to Work
  • Category 3 – Impact and Contribution (Outstanding contribution by an individual and Outstanding contribution by a team)
  • Category 4 – HSRs
  • Category 5 – Judge’s Choice

Nominations close on Wednesday 30 April.
