Training

The Victorian OHS Act gives elected OHS reps the right to attend WorkCover approved training courses.  They have the right to attend on paid leave and their employer must pay the cost of the course.  Newly elected OHS reps and deputies should attend the 5 day initial course either at their union or at the VTHC Training Centre.  The 2004OHS Act also gives elected reps and deputies the right to attend a refresher courses each year after they have completed their initial 5 day course.
