EU - European Agency for Safety and Health at Work
The Information Network of the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work provides information on European initiatives in OHS. The Agency was set up by the European Union in order to serve the information needs of people with an interest in occupational safety and health. The Agency is managed by a Board with Government, Employer and Worker representatives from all EU Member States as well as representatives from the European Commission.

The Agency revamped its website and says the new 'portal' offers the following services:

  • the ability to search for information by risk types, sectors or groups
  • an on-line thesaurus which groups terms by subject and lists all the records containing the selected keyword in 20 languages for specialised terminology
  • the ability to customise the site for specific requirements in terms of OSH-topics, languages and countries
  • a good practice section with cases that can be implement in other organisations
  • access to national sites maintained by the Agency's representations across Europe or any of its international partners sites
  • the ability to download popular factsheets to specialised magazines from their on-line library

Factsheets are produced regularly, and are available in a number of different languages.

Japan - JICOSH (English page)
The Japan International Center for Occupational Safety and Health (JICOSH) was established by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare. It is operated by the Japan Industrial Safety and Health Association and funded by part of premiums paid by Japanese companies under the workmen' s accident compensation insurance system.

US/ European Union Co-operation on Workplace Safety and Health
The European Agency for Safety and Health (EASHW) and the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) have set up this website to promote the sharing of information and resources on current safety and health topics of common interest.  The site provides links to information available from United States Federal Government agencies that have workplace safety and health responsibilities.

USA - Occupational Safety and Health Administration
This is OSHA - the OHS section of the US Department of Labour: there is lots of useful OHS information, including a great website Teen summer jobs – $afety pays aimed at the millions of American teenagers who take on summer work. There's info on construction, farm work, restaurants, life guarding, safe driving, parks and recreation and ‘lawn care’. (Be aware that US legislation is referenced, not relevant to Victoria or other Australian jurisdictions.)

Also very useful is the Publications homepage.
