Hospitality

The hospitality industry is one of the fastest-growing 'service' industries. It has many hazards, including:

  • manual handling
  • exposure to hazardous substances
  • trips, slips and falls
  • fatigue (particularly associated with shift work, long hours or being 'on the move' the whole time)
In addition to this, many workers in the industry are young workers, sometimes inexperienced and more often than not, casual workers. This makes it especially difficult for them to raise ohs issues.
