Asthma
Asthma is a growing problem in Australia and is an occupational health issue in many workplaces, yet not enough is being done about it. As the health and safety rep, you can ensure that this issue is addressed in your workplace. A strategy should be in place in all workplaces to firstly prevent exposure to sensitisers (eg dusts) and secondly protect people with asthma from exposure to triggers (eg cigarette smoke).
